I do live to eat.
Tapas, sangria & one too many cocktails during happy hour at Different Drummer, Glebe.
Then godly HABIBS and arguila.
Post-uni life = so far so fat good.
Very Personal Public Apology.
The exhibition was ace.
Kudos to everyone that made it happen and came to admire and support. (:
Props to Julz for the photos.
this isn’t really my thing.
My media portfolio mock-up which is due next week along with a presentation and our short film.
It’s going to be a long weekend.
haloumi
So how my weekend went from this:
to J frying me haloumi cheese at 3am somewhere in fucking Canberra, I really don’t know.
But life is sweet.
After being MIA on Facebook for a while, I will now be so in real life thanks to the final stretch of uni kicking off with shooting our short film next week. Time to get my act together!
AU REVOIR.
P.S. A little shout out (ahem, advertising) to Le Petite Tarte in Glebe for letting my group take the entire upstairs level of their gorgeous cafe to film.
P.P.S. You should also try the fish and chips joint right next to it, it’s the best – after the fish markets of course.
cupcakes.
Friday was an awesome evening of cupcakes & sushi followed by pictionary. At almost three years after high school, it’s getting to the point where I speak to few, snub some & tread carefully at Strathfield station
. So it was lovely to be able to sit down with these ladies for a catchup after all these years.
Anyway, I should really start documenting pictionary games I play. They’re ALWAYS hilarious!!! I spat soy iced chocolate in a friend’s face from laughing.
The tiring walk up the hill to Sparkle Cupcakery was worth it & they know it!
My cousin’s daughter’s first birthday was on the weekend. This is possibly my favourite photo, ever.
And this is definitely the scariest cake I’ve ever seen, lol.
Now to count down to the master chef final! I’m rooting for Poh, because she cooked her own version of ginataan one ep (;

I’m quite content with my results this semester but not too happy about uni starting again in a week.
This break definitely wasn’t long enough.
I’ve only been interstate once, gone to the movies twice & gotten drunk thrice.
Poor effort
I have a week of catch-ups planned ending with the Aroma Festival at the Rocks. Woo to the hoo.
Inspired by the gnome in Amelie:

“Sans toi, les émotions d’aujourd’hui ne seraient que la peau morte des émotions d’autrefois.”
Without you, today’s emotions would be the scurf of yesterday’s.

melbourne.
I FINALLY GOT MY BROADBAND BACK & WORKING AFTER LIKE A MONTH.
Now I’m too lazy to blog properly about Melbourne.. I’ll leave it at this:
My five favourite things:
5. the weather, while we were there at least
We were lucky enough to have nice, warm-ish weather whilst it was POURING in Sydney that week. We hit St Kilda beach in full sunshine.
4. the tram system
Although I still don’t get what a ‘daily’ and ’2 hour something’ is (why can’t they use normal terms like single & return?!), the trams are much more efficient than our buses. We had a comedic tram driver en route to the MCG for AUS vs. JPN.
3. street graffiti
There was sick graffiti at almost every corner. And not ugly ‘tagging’ but really nice arty graffiti. Some grungy, some cutesy & colourful.
2. boutiques & op-shops
Went to St Kilda & Fitzroy whose streets were lined with gorgeous shops with stuff you only find at markets, I’m kind of kicking myself for not forking out the dosh to buy something. Shopping in the CBD wasn’t as great as everyone makes it out to be, the same stores are in Sydney man!
1. cafe/food culture
Melbourne’s cafe culture wins. My favourite street was Central Place which is more like an alley way. It reminded of (hate that I’m referencing this) Harry Potter, the first one when Harry steps through the brick wall to get to the place he buys his wizard gear stuff from lol, I am clearly not a fan. But yeah, stepping into Central Place was like stepping into another world. We ate at a creperie over there, delish!!! Also ate at Lygon St which is Melbourne’s Leidchardt, a quirky cafe at St Kilda & a sweets place in the city. The boys took care of the rest of the meals, & the dishes! Gender roles are so over.
I’m off for a jog, it’s sunny out.
Much looking forward to a friend’s birthday & the PMA photography exhibition on le weekend.

A traditional journal entry on a new technology.
This blog post is definitely a rant and is the result of my household having dial-up internet for the past two weeks while we switch ISPs. Do you remember how fucking SLOW dial-up was?
Read on only if you have spare time-which I have plenty of since I handed in that media essay (on the due date
) and I’m unable to stream stuff or shop online. Anyway it was the last MDCM essay EVER (I better D it). On the same day I also did my last film theory assessment. GOOD BYE bible-length readings by assholes who just reference a bunch of other assholes and get their work published so sucker uni students like me can reference them in 3000 word essays! I’m still pissed I paid $70 for that crap, wikipedia-like media textbook we only opened like once in class.
Next semester will be production on production. We get to produce something for a real client! I’m about as excited as Pinocchio was when he was gonna become a real boy. I’m also doing a production elective to complete my film major. The class will be making a feature film which sounds like a big ask but smaller groups will be producing sections of it kinda like Paris Je T’aime or the Animatrix. Both of which I LOVE so I hope ours turns out sweeeet.
I’m unsure how I feel about being one semester away from graduation. I’m so accustomed to university life. What will I miss most? Probably white velvets from the legendary coffee cart. Or $2.50 sushi plates for students @ market city. Other than edibles I’ll miss uni parties, being BROKE as hell and just being around awesome people really.
Here’s a blast from the past; first year photos from facebook (:
Discovering the power of photobooth. I loved it so much I went and bought a mac for myself. The “I need it for uni work Mum” was just a coverup (;
Lounging around like nerds waiting for lectures to begin. I don’t go to lectures anymore unless they mark the roll which is most, D’OH.
The very first uni party we went to where monsies decided it was okay to give her friends number out to randoms. Our pact to go to everyone this year recently failed.
Cogee beach at the end of semester two. Lol @ the comments, they called it (:
I will miss you mofos and UNSW but I can’t wait to try my luck in the real world. And although I think 16 straight years of education is more than enough, I can HALF see myself doing a post-grad in something cool at something ugly like UTS or tafe even. Hmm. Anyway enough contemplating the future..
I’m going to enjoy this last semester, hard.
Hard? I’ve been working too many Doggies matches, lol.
Have a good break or a good exam period if you do a real degree.

Twitter.
I haven’t blogged in an age and I blame Twitter – micro-blogging is so much easier. You can do it from your mobile (that is if you’re not with fucking 3 Mobile and got fucked over) and it’s more easily accessible rather than a WordPress blog that you need spam on all your statuses-including Twitter hehe, for people to click and read (well I need to anyway
).
I’m going to write this blog as if it’s on twitter.
tweet: Cooking big breakfast: ham, eggs, tomato, sourdough & OJ.
I hardly eat breakfast anymore so this morning’s was divine.
tweet: Can you feel the love tonight?
Although the Twitter box asks ‘What are you doing?’ I like to mix it up a little and throw in a few lyrics like this epic Disney classic by Elton John. I watched the Lion King this morning after being inspired by our late night GG/DISNEY bonding session in Nik’s car last night.
tweet: Tidying my sty of a room.
Did a HUGE cleanup of my room. I do one of these every month and am perplexed as to how I manage to get all the junk back and more in just four weeks. I also cleaned up my mac and portable storage devices.
tweet: I am a procrastinator.
I started off well with the organising and was planning to start the MDCM major essay. But then I looked outside and saw it was pouring and dark and it made me sleepy and lazy. After finishing my mock ‘lounge’ website layout I got the hang of PS, so I ditched the essay and had my first go at creating ‘faux tilt-shift’ shots which are supposed to look like miniature models. Click for bigger.
tweet: Note to self: Upgrade to flickerpro and clean up photostream.
Why the aussie dollar is slowly rising, if it hits 80 I’ll be sure to go pro and make some overseas eBay purchases.

This is from Polly’s brithday at Randwick races taken from the uber V.I.P section that Elle and I somehow got into. I wish I had a further distanced shot of the track to play with.

And this is my sister go-karting in Cebu, Philippines on our Christmas holiday there.
I would love to produce a stop motion with tilt-shift images. They look real cute: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhwyRyxIIk4. Though I think that might have been done from a video, not sure.
Now I’m going to start the essay.
I want this..
..constellation skylight on my bedroom ceiling. PWC’s lobby is magical. Went in to use a friend’s locker and got busted by security for taking this heh.
